| Recap |
Third down and four, Plunkett throws to Kenny King. King runs for 80
yards down the left sideline for a touchdown. Giving the Raiders a 14-0
lead. From there on the Raiders never looked back.
Jim Plunkett the games' MVP threw for 261 yards on 21 attempts for 3
touchdowns. Not bad for a reject 10 year veteran picked up by Al Davis
in 1978. "All Jim needed was for someone to believe in him"
said coach Tom Flores.

| Road To The Superbowl |
Led by the NFL playerr of the year, QB Ron Jaworski the Eagles swept into the playoffs with a 12-4 regular season record. In the Divisional game they faced the Vikings but thanks to 8 turnovers in 22 minutes the Eagles where able to overcome the 14-0 Viking lead to win 31-16. In the NFC Championship game they faced division rival Dallas. With gusting winds stalling the passing game the Eagles turned to the rushing game and Montgomery responded with 194 yards. When it was all over the Eagles had won 20-7 and had sealed their first superbowl berth.

An 11-5 record sealed the Raiders a play off berth and for the first time ever a team in a Wild Card game went all the way to become the Superbowl champions. On the way the Raiders beat Houston 27-7, Cleveland 14-12 and then the division rival San Diego Chargers 34-27 n the AFC Championship game.
