| Recap |
| Starting with a 51-0 demolition of the Denver Broncos, the Oakland Raiders where the class act of the AFL. Losing only once in the regular season (too
the New York Jets 14-27) they cruised into the post season and the Superbowl. Waiting for them in the Superbowl was the defending champion Green Bay Packers coached by the legendary Vince
Lombardi. The game followed a similar pattern to the year before with the Packers taking an early lead and then wrapping the game up in the third quarter. Oakland tried to come back but
when Herb Adderley stepped in front of a Lamonica pass to Fred Biletnikoff and ran the interception 60 yards for a touchdown it was all over. The result left many at the time thinking that
AFL would never beat the stronger NFL but this was to be proven wrong the following year when a certain Mr Namath followed through with his victory pledge.
