| ![]() First Game Of The Preseason... First Win August 19, 2010, 9:53 pm Nice start for the defence. First time offence struggled but given the new QB it isn't really that much of a surprise. Hopefully things look better this week against the Bears.Good Bye JaMarcus Russell May 8, 2010, 10:38 pm The poor excuse of a quarterback is longer collecting a paycheck from the Oakland
Raiders
. Russell never lived up to his first overall draft position. No he preferred the lifestyle his new found wealth brought him over dedication to the sport that brought him that money. He must now seek employment elsewhere, it is likely that no team will offer more than league minimum if any team offers anything. Given his well documented problems it's going to take a very brave or desperate GM that offers Russell anything. Russell now likely carries the tag of biggest draft bust of all time, taking over the mantle from Ryan Leaf. His failure brings about more talk of the NFL needing to introduce a rookie salary cap much like the NBA. The biggest problem with that is that the average NBA career is five years where as the NFL 's is three. Mini-camp day 1
